F.I.L.A. GRAPPLING & British Grappling Association
Martin Clarke and Andrew Brownbridge attended a meeting with the British Wrestling Association to organise the Grappling side of their Organisation. For those of you who up to date with International Sport will know that F.I.L.A. the International Governing Body for Wrestling has been given the mantle by Sports Accord (International Body for all International Sports Organisations) to organise Grappling Sports. The BWA are FILA’s representative in Great Britain. At the meeting were BWA Officials, Martin Clarke, Andrew Brownbridge plus two gentleman representing London Shoot Fighting and Bristol the latter two were MMA Grapplers. The outcome was that they would run the Grappling side for BWA and this would be called FILA grappling and Andrew Brownbridge would run Pankration, Belt Wrestling and Combat Grappling this would be called FILA Combat. Both would be responsible for organising elimination events for selecting teams for International Events. Andrew runs and organisation called British Grappling Association and his organisation will be affiliating to the International Budo Federation/British CombatSombo Associations. This will allow both sets of members to compete, attend courses and grade in each others association, a great leap forward for both groups and should double our strength. Andrew will be In Sittingbourne on January 23rd 2011 he will be doing a course on Pankration and striking something not to be missed A Course on Striking and Grappling Swale Martial Arts Club 127 East Street Sittingbourne ME10 4BL

Andy taught at our Annual Summer Camp and went down a storm if you check his CV he has a wealth of experience in many Martial Arts. In recent years he become very involved in MMA Striking/Grappling representing GB in FILA he particularly specialises in Pankration and Combat Wrestling this is a courses not to be missed. The course is limited to 20 people and will be on a first come first served basis so get your entry with fees ASAP.
